Cruising at the south coast with Crawley
Mariners
Day Cruises from Itchenor
(Grid Ref SU 800015) Arrangements for these cruises will be
published each month in the Newsletter. Members should assemble
on the Hard at Itchenor and be ready to sail by 10.30 a.m. Each
cruise will have an intended destination and a cruise leader
will be appointed who will organise and brief participants on
the passages to be made.
For their own safety ,boats taking part on these cruises will
be expected to keep together and as an additional safety measure,
to be paired up. A picnic should be taken in the boat. A charge
for the car park and for Harbour Dues is made by the Chichester
Harbour Authorities but an annual season ticket can be purchased
for the Harbour dues. |

Weekend Cruise at Itchenor |
Daily cruising on the same lines as above will be
organised on the four days of the Spring Bank Holiday. Members
may join these cruises for one, or any number, of the days.

On the Beach at East Head in Chichester Harbour |
Solent Cruise |
A day cruise around the Solent area. Ryde, Cowes,
Bembridge, Newtown Creek, Beaulieu River, and other spots in Southampton
Water are all within a days cruising range. Boats must be adequate
for these waters and generally a Miracle is the smallest of the
Club's classes that is suitable. Boats should be equipped for a
days cruising with an anchor and warp, tow line, bailers, oars
or paddles, spares, a change of clothes, food and drink. Helms
should have adequate experience. Members should
assemble at the South East end of the Seasalter Car Park near the
Seafarer Sailing Club and slipway. Please be rigged and ready to
sail by 10.30 am. There will be a briefing there at 10.00 am. on
the day. |
