Racing at Crawley Mariners Yacht Club

The racing programme at Crawley Mariners is full and varied. Pretty much every weekend there will be a race at the Lake, there are also Wednesday evening series. The intention is to provide an opportunity for all to take part. From beginners, through to club racers and preparing for higher level competition, there is a series for you.

Thanks to the arrangements we have with the Open Dinghy Club, we are able to offer our members the chance to race on the sea at Angmering in Sussex. Sailing on the sea is a very different experience from sailing on the lake, but it is generally agreed that sea sailing experience is another excellent way of developing your all-round skills.

Dinghy Racing for Beginners

The Start Racing Series running from March to November provides an excellent opportunity for those wanting to learn the gentle art of racing. This is a novice series that follows on from 'Saturday Club' which is an informal training session. Anyone wanting to improve their skills can do so in the morning under the guidance of our trained instructors and put them into practice should they wish to do so.
