Volunteering opportunities
Crawley Mariners is a volunteer-run club – we have lots of regular opportunities to get involved and make the a success.
- Tuesday Volunteer Group – read more about their invaluable work to keep the club facilities well maintained.
- Junior Saturday Clubs – parent/guardian helpers ensure the event start/finish on time, run the galley and allow the Instructors to focus on instructing.
- Instructing – New Dinghy and Powerboat Instructors are always welcome – if you’d like to learn more, get in touch with our Training Principal.
- Committees – Main management committee, Training & Junior sub-committee and Sailing sub-committee
We have also now launched a new section of our website for ad-hoc tasks that you can help with. These range from simple gardening to more complex DIY or improvements to our facilities to help Sailability initiatives.
Recognition Tree - Marker Post

We planted a tree to recognise all previous Commodores, their supporting committee members and all other contributors including You, the Instructors, Tuesday Volunteer Group, Cake Sale Makers, Bird Poo Scrapers, Leaf Clearers, New Team members (I’m sure you get the picture) that make everything possible.
Now we need a marker post, or a post and plaque to identify this tree. Round or square entirely up-to-you with inscription to be agreed perhaps spiralling around the post or on a plague, anything to make it enticing to read and acknowledge those that have contributed to the Club to get it where it is today. 'Planting' the post can be a separate volunteer task if necessary. Look forward to discussing this with you.
Volunteer for this task
If you’d like to help out with any of the gardening tasks, gardening equipment is contained in the small outside storage unit between the garages and the white tent.
