Portsmouth Harbour

We meet by 9am at the public slipway next to:

Hardway Sailing Club
103 Priory Road
Gosport
PO12 4LF

There will be NO powerboat support on this cruise.

This cruise on 21st September 2024 to take advantage of the spring tide so facilitate the exploration of the upper reaches of Portsmouth Harbour. We launch from Hardway Sailing Club slip. The boats can be unloaded and the cars with road trailers can be left in the free public car park about 200m from the slipway. This is a very friendly club and they also serve excellent evening meals.

With a high tide at 14.27 we aim to sail up to Fareham possibly maybe visiting the very hospitable Fareham Sailing & Motor Boat Club then turn east past Porchester Castle to Porchester Sailing Club. This is another very friendly club that serves superb food. The area between the Fareham and Port Solent channels is very shallow and care should be taken! Then back to Hardway keeping well clear of HM warships and aircraft carriers!
