RYA Sailing Courses for adults at CMYC

An RYA qualification is known and respected the world over. We work constantly to ensure that the highest standards are maintained. Crawley Mariners Yacht Club offers a range of courses catering for beginners and more advanced sailors.  This link to the RYA website shows progression through the RYA adult dinghy sailing courses. Club boats used for courses are: Quest, 2000, Wanderer and Miracle. Further details are given in Newsletters at the appropriate time.

Combined RYA Level 1 - Start Sailing & RYA Level 2 - Basic Skills

RYA Training Centre: Crawley Mariners Yacht Club

Venue: Sailing on Hedgecourt Lake and theory presented in the CMYC clubhouse or outside if the weather is suitable.

Duration: Four days

Instructor to student ratios: Initially there will be a maximum of three students and one instructor per boat, however it is more likely that there will be only one or two students and one instructor per boat. As students progress and sail without and instructor in the boat there will be a maximum of six students per instructor.

Course materials and equipment: Books are included in the course fee, as is the use of a club boat and a club buoyancy aid. Students are expected to have their own sailing clothing appropriate for the conditions, these may include wetsuit or drysuit, spray top, dinghy sailing shoes or boots, gloves and hat. 

Previous experience: none required.

Dates: 20th June, 26th June, 3rd & 4th July 2021

RYA Start Racing
