Carnival – Join the Procession
Fun for all at our Early Summer Social on 8th June.
Every great carnival has a procession of floats, and we’ve lots of boats, boards and kayaks that float. Come and dress your float, or even yourself, in something colourful and join our carnival procession.
This event is a relaxed summer social with a support boat available during the morning and afternoon sessions and we dive right in, starting with a swim from 8am.
Prizes will be available for the best dressed float (even for those that stay on the shore) with judges awarding points for:
- environmental consideration
- colour and
- fun elements.
Programme
- swim from 8am until 9am
- paddle boarding & kayaking all day
- sail from 9:30
- decorate your float and enter it in the competition – judging starts 11am
- burger van lunch from 1pm
- on-the-water procession starts at 2pm and competition judging continues
- support boat from:
- 10am to 12:30, and 13:30 to 15:30
- Mr Whippy ice creams available (pm)
- prize giving at 4pm.
Food
A burger van will be serving lunch including a vegetarian option from 1pm. Their Wagyu burger and own sauce is
served with applewood cheese, baby gem, in a brioche bun for £12.
Everything is locally sourced and sustainable (Trenchmore Farm, Horsham).
Swimmers, Sailors, Paddlers, Gongoozlers – All Welcome
Come and celebrate our 61st birthday and join in our carnival procession. With prizes to be given away and lunch available, there is no reason not to make a day of it.
